Meet the Founder

Port City Construction was founded by Trevis Smalls, who built the company on a foundation of formal training and hands-on craftsmanship. Mr. Smalls attended Trident Technical College, where he graduated with honors and earned degrees in both Construction Trade and Construction Management. That blend of trade skill and management expertise shapes how every Port City project is run today.

Over his career, Mr. Smalls has successfully overseen more than 50 major projects as a general contractor, spanning both commercial and residential work. On the commercial side, his portfolio includes the remodeling of Miller-Motte Technical College. On the residential side, it includes a complete overhaul and renovation of a three-bedroom, three-bathroom home in the Pepperhill community in North Charleston.

We're fully licensed (Residential #RBB21691, Commercial #CLG123516) and insured, and we partner with vetted local subcontractors to bring the right expertise to every job. From the first estimate to the final walkthrough, we focus on clear communication, realistic timelines, honest budgets, and a jobsite we'd be proud to show off.
